About Carol Wiley

Carol Wiley, freelance writer, former massage therapistCarol Wiley

My goal with this website is to give you holistic healing information that you can use to support your life. I started this site's predecessor (BellevueMassageTherapy.com) in February 2003 as a way to market my massage therapy practice, and that site soon became the main source for my clients. Gradually my focus shifted into building the site into a resource for healthy living information, and in February 2014, the site became SelfHolisticHealing.com.

If you're interested in my massage experience, here it is: As a 1997 graduate of the 900-hour massage therapy program at the Brian Utting School of Massage in Seattle, WA, my focus was deep tissue and Swedish massage plus onsite chair massage. I had an active massage practice until 2009.

I'm now a freelance writer, building on the technical writing I did before becoming a massage therapist and the web writing I have done for my sites. I also have a blog where I post random musings, mostly about personal development, books, and writing.

My other interests include contact improvisation dance, and I am a founding organizer (in 1994) of the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation, and the non-profit Dance Art Group (in 2002), which produced the festival and other dance-related workshops/events in Seattle through 2011.

My background also includes 16+ years of martial arts trainining, mostly in Aikido and Tae Kwon Do, and I am the editor of two published anthologies of essays: Women in the Martial Arts and Martial Arts Teachers on Teaching

I'm also a Seattle distributor of Young Living Essential Oils. if you are interested in buying essential oils or becoming a distributor, contact me for more information.

Thanks for your interest!
